I am a senior in the Ford School of Public Policy and will graduate in April with a degree in public policy and minor in economics. I enjoy studying international economic development and political philosophy.
For the past two years, I have volunteered as an in-school and after-school tutor for elementary school students through the 826michigan organization in Ann Arbor. I am continuing my creative writing tutoring by working with InsideOut Literary Arts Project. The organization places professional writers in schools to give writing workshops and allows students to develop their self-expression through creative writing. I will be assisting a writer with his in-school residency with the goal of personally leading a classroom workshop. I will also be helping with the publication process by proofreading and typing student poetry and scanning student images.
I enjoy listening to Fresh Air on National Public Radio, watching PBS NewsHour, reading stories by David Foster Wallace, running marathons, playing Scrabble, and backpacking.
