Erica M. Combs

I’m a Junior at the University of Michigan with a focus in Psychology although pursuing a career in Marketing. I am an intern at the Restaurant Opportunities Center of Michigan which has been around for a little over a year now. The center developed from ROC-New York which was established after the attacks of 9-11 displaced many restaurant workers in the Twin Towers. The center has now expanded to include many other cities including; Chicago, Michigan, New Orleans, Maine and Miami. Since its start, the Restaurant Opportunities Center has won over 5,000,000 for lost wages and improvements in workplace policies and conditions.

Im looking forward to being an advocate for workers rights and abolishing the injustices of the workforce, in turn, creating a better world for workers in restaurant fields across the globe.
