Leeya Correll

I am a Junior at the University of Michigan and I grew up in Ann Arbor.  I am a Residential College student with a major in the Program in the Environment and a minor in Urban and Community Studies.  I am particularly interested in the study of Environmental Justice and I’m considering going on to law school eventually to study Environmental Law.  My internship this semester is with Southwest Detroit Business Association where I am working on a Geographic Targetting program. Specifically, I am working with landowners of abandoned properties that have been identified by the community as “nuisance properties”.  I am also working on an event for this spring that will bring the community together to board up vacant houses and do landscaping projects on different properties.
